VERY LITTLE BIT HELPS
The heartbreaking and truly sad part of this entire story is; Ms. Gilbert’s son, Hunter, who is a volunteer firefighter and medical first responder in Clarke County had to perform CPR on his own mother in an attempt to save her life until the ambulance got there.
That itself will bring tears to your eyes. The family is at a loss during this tragedy and we (CCHT) want to help the Gilbert Family by easing some of the financial burden so that is one less thing they have to worry about during this time.
Thanks to everyone who’s donated so far! The current balance is $1800 donated of the $5000 Goal.
We’re just over 3K away from the goal. Funeral expense deadline is January 30th.
Please continue to share so we can help make this happen. If you’re not familiar with this story, see details below from the original post.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU’RE ABLE –
Good evening Clarke County. We come to you this evening with heavy hearts as one of our very own is in need of help with funeral expenses.
Ms. Debra Gilbert passed away last night; Her son, (and our friend) Jameson “Hunter” Gilbert is asking the Clarke and surrounding communities to come together to help make a donation for her last journey.
A GoFundMe page has been set up in memory and honor to help raise the much-needed funds. In the description Hunter provides the following details.
“Hello, my name is Jameson Gilbert. As most of the close family and friends know my mother, Debra Traweek / Gilbert passed away last night.
I’m here today to ask for help with her final wishes of cremation. The family is at a loss and my mother did not have insurance.
Thank you, Jameson Gilbert”!
Hunter is a member of the fire service in Clarke County, and when one of our own hurt, we all hurt. Let’s come together and make this happen for our friend.
Please share to help the family meet their goal.
(Note – $1,600 is needed for the deposit – an addition $4,000 is needed for the remining balance).
