BEAVERDAM, MISS – An early-morning discovery leads to a fire investigation that destroyed a County Road 231 home overnight.
Officials say the no one was at home at the time of the fire, however, the home lost power around 2:am this morning (2-19-25) and was indicated at EMEPA where a service tech was dispatched to check on the outage.
Upon the power official’s arrival, the home, which was burned to the ground was discovered and called into Clarke County Dispatch.
Clarke County Fire Coordinator, Bradley McNeece tells CCHT; “The cause of the fire is still under investigation and will be handled by the state fire marshals office. No one was in the home at the time of the fire. A power company employee notified (Clarke County) 911 after discovering the burned home after a reported power outage at the residence”.
Fire Coordinator, McNeece along with Clarke County CID Investigator, Shane Harper responded to the call. Although local fire departments were dispatched to the scene, there were no need for emergency response.
The home was already burned down, had fallen to the ground and was very mildly smoldering from the intense fire that occurred hours prior.
Officials confirm that no injuries were involved and no further information could be released at this time until the fire marshal’s office concluded with their part of the investigation.
CCHT will continue to follow this story and bring you any updates as they become available.
