A man was arrested following a one vehicle accident on South Erwin Road at the intersection of Zachery Lane in Stonewall over the weekend.
Officials tell CCHT the man left the road, struck a culvert, a cyclone fence and the house that sits at the corner intersection across from BankPlus in Stonewall.
One person sustained minor injuries, but refused medical transport to the hospital.
The man who claimed he worked for the City of Quitman was booked for driving on a suspended drivers license.
To make matters worse, this occurred just across the street from where the Clarke County Mardi Gras Parade was being lined up which many people were in that area including children.
It’s unclear why the driver left the road but an adult female and two small children were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Clarke County Sheriff Deputies transported the driver to the Clarke County Jail without incident.
Will post further as it becomes available from officials.
