Car Crashes After Fleeing from MHP State Troopers

CLARKDALE – State Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol was on patrol along U.S. Highway 45 north bound near the Clarke and Lauderdale County line when a silver car traveling southbound passed them at nearly 80 mph.

Troopers turned around and attempted to make a simple traffic stop on the vehicle near the Cefco (old Outpost location) when it sped away at a high rate in an attempt to outrun the Troopers.

The southbound silver car attempted to make a right hand turn onto Highway 145 near Mathis Produce when it crashed nearly head-on into an embankment at the Highway 45 & 145 intersection.

State Troopers quickly and safety were able to apprehended three suspects after crashing. Clarke County Sheriff Deputies along with Clarkdale Fire & Rescue and Paratech EMS were called to the scene to assist.

There was no one was transported by ambulance from the scene. Officials tell CCHT that all occupants were underage and released to the custody of their parents and/or guardians.
