High Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest
High Speed Pursuit ends in arrest. Law Enforcement Officers have just cleared the scene where a high-speed pursuit ended on County Road 270 in the St. Mary Community after State Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle who then ran from them.
Officials tell CCHT the pursuit started on Highway 512 and turned onto Highway 18 West. During the pursuit on Highway 18 West, speeds reached at over 110 mph. The pursuit then turned onto County Road 115, crossed over County Road 280 onto County Road 270; passed Breckenridge Farms, then vehicle came to a stop in front of 1309 County Road 270 just south of County Road 2701.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident by State Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Clarke County Sheriff Deputies.
The suspect, Raquarius Pearson, 18 has been booked into the Clarke County Jail and charged with: Speeding 129 in a 55 zone, Disregard for Traffic Device, Felony Fleeing, Possession of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle and Driving Under the Influence (other substance) 1st Offense.
