[CCHT Video] At approx. 7:am this morning, multiple Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire in the 800 Block of County Road 695 in the Desoto Community. One firefighter who arrived first on scene, reported the home being fully engulfed with flames and noted a vehicle in the driveway that possibly indicated someone being inside.
As other firefighters began to arrive on scene, the homeowner, who was said to have been safe was found and confirmed with officials that no one else was inside the home.
As standard protocol, the fire is under investigation, the homeowner stated he thought the fire may have started in the kitchen area but wasn’t really sure.
Officials with Desoto, Quitman, Carmichael, Shubuta, along with Clarke County Fire Service and Emergency Management.
