High Speed Chase Ends in Wayne County
CLARKE CO. – Chief Deputy Barry White tells CCHT one subject is now in custody after a high-speed pursuit that started on Highway 45 near County Road 212 and ended on Pleasant-Grove Chapparal Road in Wayne County.
According to Chief White, Clarke County Sheriff Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic related violation when it fled.
The intense chase reached speeds of 100+ mph and lasted approx. 20 minutes.
Clarke and Wayne County Deputies were able to get the vehicle stopped and the driver taken into custody without incident.
The driver is currently being transported to the Clarke County jail.
