Name Released in Fatal Interstate 59 Accident

The Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol confirms Zquavius Crain, 20 of Gulfport, MS. who was the driver died as a result of a one vehicle roll-over traffic accident on Interstate 59 in the evening hours of Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019.

The accident occurred at approx. 4:45 p.m. on I-59 in Clarke County, MS near the 132 mile marker south bound just below the South Enterprise Exit.

Emergency Officials were able to help extract and render aide to two other passengers inside the vehicle and transport to a local Meridian Hospital, but rescue attempts were unsuccessful for 20 year old Crain.

According to on-scene officials the vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Avalon which was traveling south bound left Interstate 59 on the left-hand shoulder by going into the center median, then crossed back over into the south bound traffic lanes before going into the nearby wood-line where it struck a tree and overturned.

Clarke County Sheriff Deputies, Enterprise and Pachuta Fire Departments & Emergency Medical First Responders, Paratech EMS along with State Troopers from the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded and assisted with the crash site.

The Clarke County Coroner was also called to the scene.
