High Speed Chase Through Clarke County
BEAVERDAM – Chief Deputy Barry White tells CCHT that Jasper County authorities attempted to make a traffic stop on a burglary suspect on a Jasper County Road when the suspect began to flee from deputies.
The chase lasted for several minutes in Jasper County, then took a turn for Clarke County which went through the Beaverdam Community along County Roads 231, 230 & 210 before getting back onto Highway 11 going southbound towards Heidelberg.
The suspect vehicle crashed while in Clarke County however continued to flee. Clarke County Sheriff Deputies assisted Jasper County Officials with the chase which ended after the vehicle blew out a tire and was riding along it’s rim down Highway 11 just south of Heidelberg.
The suspect was apprehended without incident by Jasper County Sheriff Deputies. The Mississippi Highway Patrol also assisted with the high speed pursuit.
