TWO IN CUSTODY AFTER DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CALL

Quitman Police Officers were called to a residence in the 400 Block of West Lynda Street Monday around 12:30 pm. Upon arrival, a man exited the home and fled the scene on foot. A brief foot pursuit occurred where the suspect temporarily got away from law enforcement officers.

While conducting their investigation, a man meeting the same clothing description, was seen walking on Highway 513 near Thompson Ave. While Officers were speaking with the man on 513, the actual suspect who ran from the Police was reported to be hiding next to a bush behind Pearlie Grove Church on Thompson Ave. Officers then responded to Pearlie Grove where the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

A second man who was taken into custody at the residence on West Lynda Street was also charged with domestic violence.

Quitman Police Officers and Clarke County Sheriff Deputies responded to this call.
